The problem with Field Day isn’t the line-up, it’s the venue. Parks surrounded by residential area isn’t where Jesus wanted festivals to happen.
Why don’t they move it out to Epping, put it on later, make a proper have-it go of it, everyone have a lovely un-rushed time? Maybe split it over two days, so you give e.g. Tim Burgess more than a 20-minute set? At 2.20pm.
Why won’t this be realised? Torrential rain, combined with over-crowded expensive inner-city conditions. It must be really expensive to run it in Victoria Park. Just move it out of the centre. It’s a gimmick that’s become an expensive aberration. Put it in S.W. Essex, on the line from London Fields/Stoke Newington/Cambridge Heath, see people flock to it, have a lovely time and you can still call it Field Day.
